How To Protect USB , Pen Drive And Flash Drive From Virus

A computer virus is a computer program that can copy itself and infect a computer. The term "virus" is also commonly but erroneously used to refer to other types of malware, including but not limited to adware and spyware programs that do not have the reproductive ability. A true virus can spread from one computer to another (in some form of executable code) when its host is taken to the target computer; for instance because a user sent it over a network or the Internet, or carried it on a removable medium such as a floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB drive.

Now I tell you how virus works

1.When you connect your pendrive to your PC and Laptop then Virus(Autorun inf) move from their and make itinfected the USB.

2.After when the first step occur then this virus create to file one with name of "Autorun.inf" and other is the script to original file.

3.And finally when you turn on your Pc And Laptop then your OS will run your Virus Script and virus come to your OS.

And this is how Virus come to your OS from pen drive.....

But Not worry i searched a lot read to many blog and finally got the answer for this .Below I'm showing you some ways with help of which your can protect your USB from being Affected....

First Method

1.First of all Backup all contents of your USB drive

2.After then Download and Install Naevius USB Protector.

3.After then Select USB device that you want to protect.

4.Click “Protect” button.

And you're done.

Second Method(long process)

1.First of all open your PC, then Click on START After then go to RUN and then then type CMD now check drive of your pen drive (say H:)

2.Now in command prompt type H: and then press ENTER

3.When 3rd step is done then Type dir/w/o/a/p and press ENTER in your Command Prompt.

Note:"Autorun.inf, new folder.exe, bha.vbs,explore.vbs, info.exe, ravon.exe,ravon.exe, mntdrcore.exe,rvhost.exe (Check for these file)

4.If you get any file during related to these keywords then run the command [attrib -h -r -s -a*.* ] in command prompt and then press Enter.

5.Now Delete file listed in the "Note" if get any.

6.Now you can check your USB drive and you will see that your USB is clean and protected.

And you're done.

Third Method

ThumbScrew:

You can use Thumbscrew which is an freeware application with the help of which you can protect your USB drive so that no virus, Malware, Trojan or any kind of infection from host computer will write in your USB drive.

You just need is to follow simple and easy steps:

1.First of all Download and install ThumbScrew

2.Then run it into your computer

3. You will get two option USB write Enabled and USB write disabled ,slect any one with your need.

4.Now right click the system try icon and choose Make USB read only.

And you're done.

Fourth Method

Disable Autorun on Your Pen Drive and to do that follow simple steps below:

1.First of all Open to Start =>; Run and after that type “gpedit.msc” (without quotes) and press enter. and it will you open Group policy editor.

2.After then Browse go to Administrative templates =>; System =>, then double click on Turn off Autoplay click on Enabled and Under Settings =>; Select All Drives in the drop down and click OK .As shown in the below Snapshot.

 And you're done

Fifth Method

By Scanning Your Pen Drive:

When ever you put your pendrive into your PC and Laptop try to scan it with any anti-virus installed in your OS.

Sixth Method

Use Free Commander:

Free Commander is again a file explorer like windows explorer, so you just need to download it  and install it in your system .It will work like shown below in the pictute
